J. MILLARD TAWES, Governor                     1437

land (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Bever-
ages," subtitle "Hours and Days for Sale," relating to the issuance
of a Class C License (alcoholic beverage) in Kent County and
relating to the Sunday hours of sale for holders of Class C Licenses.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 20 (i), 90 (b) (2) and 101 of Article 2B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Hours and Days of Sale," be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

(i) In Kent County such a license may be issued to a bona fide
nonprofit organization or club composed solely of members, which
organization or club operates solely for the use of its own members
and their guests when accompanied by such members; provided such
club or organization meets in a clubhouse that is used for no other
purpose and that such club has one hundred or more bona fide
members paying such dues as were required in the year immediately
preceding the year for which such license is issued; except that in
the case of clubs composed exclusively of members who served in
the armed forces of the United States, which are affiliated with a
national organization, such a license may be issued provided said
club has fifty or more bona fide members paying such dues as were
required by its national organization [in the] for the full year im-
mediately preceding the year for which such license is issued; the
annual fee for such a license shall be five hundred dollars ($500.00).

90.

(b) (2) This subsection shall be applicable and have effect in
Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Garrett, Harford, Kent, Queen
Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico, and Worcester
counties, provided that it shall not apply to or affect special Class C
licenses issued under the provisions of this article, nor shall it apply
to special Class C licenses issued in Washington County for tempo-
rary use. Nothing in this section shall require the holder of any
Class A (off-sale) beer license in Washington County to close his
place of business on Sunday provided such licensee shall close that
part of his place of business from which beer is sold. Nothing in
this section shall apply to Class C. Beer, Wine and Liquor License
(on sale) Club in Kent County under which it shall be lawful to
keep for sale and sell in Kent County for consumption on the licensed
premises alcoholic beverages on Sunday between the hours of 2:00
o'clock P. M. and midnight.

101.

In Kent County, notwithstanding any other provision of this sub-
title, it shall be unlawful for any person to sell or for any retail
dealer to give alcoholic beverages between the hours of midnight on
Saturday and 6:00 A.M. on Monday, except as to Class C. Beer, Wine
and Liquor License (on sale) Club under which it shall be lawful to
keep for sale and sell in Kent County, for consumption on the licensed
premises alcoholic beverages on Sunday between the hours of 2:00
o'clock P.M. and midnight.
Any person selling or any retail dealer
giving alcoholic beverages in Kent County between the hours of mid-
