night on Saturday and 6:00 A.M. on Monday, except as to Class C
license aforesaid,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon convic-
tion thereof shall be fined not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00) for
the first offense, and for each succeeding offense shall be fined not
exceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprisoned in the county
jail for not more than thirty (30) days or be both fined and im-
prisoned, in the discretion of the court.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 693
(House Bill 1109)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 177 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County (1957 Edi-
tion), being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Washington County," subtitle "County Commissioners,"
as said section was last amended by Chapter 280, Acts of 1959,
requiring proceeds from the sale of all school lands and facilities
to be placed into the "Special School Fund" created to provide for
school construction and repair by the Washington County School
Bond Act of 1963.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 177 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington
County (1957 Edition), being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Washington County," subtitle "County
Commissioners," as such section was last amended by Chapter 280
of the Acts of 1959, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

177.

The County Commissioners of Washington County shall have
authority (1) to lease, to sell, at either public or private sale, and to
convey, or otherwise to dispose of and convey any real estate or
interest in real estate now held or owned or hereafter acquired by
said County Commissioners and no longer needed for public use,
provided that the intent to lease, sell, dispose of, or convey, except
in the case of a conveyance made between the County and any federal,
state or local government, shall be advertised in a newspaper having
general distribution in the county, once a week for three successive
weeks and (2) to buy at public or private sale or to accept without
consideration any real estate which in their judgment shall be useful
to Washington County; provided, however, that said County Com-
missioners shall not expend from its general fund for the acquisition
of property for any one purpose an amount in excess of One Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($100,000); and further provided, however, that
the proceeds from sales of all existing school facilities, school lands
and other properties presently used for school facilities and titled in
the name of the County and/or branch, department or derivative
thereof shall be paid into the "Special School Fund" for school con-
