SEC. 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THE ACT
SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE "WASHINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL
BOND ACT OF 1963."
Sec. 10. SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That the various provi-
sions of this Act shall be regarded as separate and severable, and
should any section, sentence, clause or provision thereof be held in-
valid or unconstitutional for any reason, the validity of the remaining
parts hereof shall not be affected thereby.
Sec. 11. SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51 (g) of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement),
title "County Commissioners," subtitle "County Treasurer," giving
the Charles County Treasurer the authority to hire a clerk and
establishing a maximum salary of $3,600 for such position and
increasing the salary of the assistant treasurer IN CHARLES
COUNTY to $4,2000.00 $4,000.00.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51 (g) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "County
Treasurer," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
51.
(g) The county treasurer of Charles County shall receive an
annual salary of $6,000.00. The salary of the assistant treasurer
shall not exceed [$3,600.00] $4,200.00 $4,000.00 per annum. The
treasurer may appoint a clerk at a salary not to exceed $3,000.00
per annum, to perform such duties as may be required by the treas-
urer. The clerk shall give bond, to the county, conditioned upon the
faithful performance of his duties. The clerk shall be a resident of
Charles County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1963.
