Water Fish," subheading "Song and Insectivorous Birds"; and
to add new subsections (c) and (d) to Section 141 aforesaid, to
follow immediately after subsection (b) thereof; all to be under
the new subheading "Song and Insectivorous Birds and Falcons,"
creating falconry permits for falcons, hawks, or owls, and pro-

viding for their issuance, use and costs AND TO CHANGE THE
SUBHEADING "SONG AND INSECTIVOROUS BIRDS" TO BE
"SONG AND INSECTIVOROUS BIRDS AND FALCONS," TO
AUTHORIZE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS TO TAKE, TRAIN AND
FLY FALCONS, HAWKS AND OWLS, RELATING TO SUCH
PERMITS, PROHIBITING SALE OF SUCH BIRDS, AND REGU-
LATING USE OF SUCH BIRDS FOR HUNTING.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That section 141 (b) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game
and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Song and Insectivorous
Birds," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments; and that new subsections (c) and (d) be and they are hereby
added to Section 141 aforesaid, to follow immediately after sub-
section (b) thereof; all all to be under the new subheading "Song and
Insectivorous Birds and Falcons," AND TO CHANGE THE SUB-
HEADING "SONG AND INSECTIVOROUS BIRDS" TO BE
"SONG AND INSECTIVOROUS BIRDS AND FALCONS," and all
to read as follows:

Song and Insectivorous Birds and Falcons
141.

(b)   The certificates authorized by [this] subsection (a) shall ex-
pire on the 31st day of December of the year issued and shall not be
transferable.

(c)  Certificates may be granted by the Director to any properly
accredited person of the age of 18 years or upwards to take alive,
train and fly falcons, hawks, and/or owls, provided not more than two
in any combination, shall be possessed at any one time, upon payment
of a fee of five dollars ($5.00).
IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PER-
SON TO SELL OR OFFER FOR SALE ANY FALCONS, HAWKS
OR OWLS. SUCH BIRDS SHALL BE USED FOR HUNTING,
CATCHING OR KILLING OF GAME OR ANIMALS ONLY DUR-
ING THE SEASON WHEN IT IS LAWFUL TO HUNT OR TAKE
THE GAME OR ANIMALS.

(d)   The certificates authorized by (c) above shall expire on the
30th day of June of the year issued and shall not be transferable.
They may be revoked at any time by the Director for cause.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
