CHAPTER 635
(House Bill 735)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, subsection (f)
of Section 32 of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "State Roads" subtitle "Distribution and
Use of Special Funds," increasing from Six Million ($6,000,000.00)
Dollars to Eight Million ($8,000,000.00) Dollars annually the
amount which may be transferred from the Construction Fund to
the Motor Vehicle Revenue Fund.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That subsection (f) of Section 32 of Article 89B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement) title "State Roads" subtitle
"Distribution and Use of Special Funds," be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments to read as follows:

32.

(f) In case of an emergency whereby the Motor Vehicle Revenue
Fund created by Section 341 of Article 66½ is insufficient to main-
tain properly the State highway system, the State Roads Commission,
with the consent of the Governor and under the provisions of Section
8 of Article 15 15A, may in any fiscal year, transfer from the Con-
struction Fund described in this section, to the Motor Vehicle Revenue
Fund, a sum not to exceed [six million dollars ($6,000,000.00)] eight
million dollars ($8,000,000.00)
in such fiscal year, such funds, when so
transferred, to be used for the maintenance and operation of the
State highway system.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 636
(House Bill 786)

AN ACT to add new Sections 249A to 249R, inclusive, to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Charles County (1959 Edition, being
Article 9, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Charles County" to follow immediately after Section 249 thereof
and to be under the new subtitle "Sanitary District" authorizing
the creation of a Merit System or classified service for certain
employees of the Charles County Sanitary District, Inc., providing
generally for the procedures under this Merit System imposing
certain duties upon the State Commissioner of Personnel in rela-
tion thereto and relating generally to the Merit System or classified
service under the Charles County Sanitary District, Inc.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 249A to 249R be and the same are hereby added
to the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County (1959 Edition,
being Article 9, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
