Kent County fst The Jurors for the right honourable the
Lord propry that now is for the body of Kent County afd upon
their Oath do present that Martha Barton wife of Samuel
Barton late of Saint pauls parish Ordinary keeper the first
Day of May Anno Domini seventeen hundred thrity & eight at
the parish afd in the County afd and within the Jurisdiction
of this Court in and upon William Burcam in the peace of God
and of the same Lord propry then and there being with force
and Arms an Assault did make and the same William then
and there did beat wound & evilly treat so that of his life it was
greatly dispaired and other harms to him then and there did
to the Great damge of the same William and against the
peace of God the said Lord propry his Good rule & governmt.
&ca.
On the Back of the afd Indictment was Indorsed as
fol. Vizt            Ignoramus pr Jno Brown for.
Ordered by this Court here that the afd Martha give
Security for the fees Accrueing on the premisses afd to
the Officers of this Court
Thereupon George Garnett of Chester Town
Innholder and Present here in Court Acknowledgeth
himself Indebted unto his Lordship the right honour:
:able the Lord propry of Maryland in the sum of
five hundred pounds of tobacco to be made & Leveyed
on his body goods and Chattles Lands & Tenements
for the use of his said Lordship his heirs & successr
With Condition to this recognizance that the afd
Martha Barton do pay the Fees Accrueing on the
Premisses afd to the Officers of this Court Then
this recognizance to be Void Else to remain in
full force in Law
