36 and his Associates the said Lord propry his Justices of the Same Lord propry County Court afd and for the same Lord propry doth give the same Justices here to understand and be Inform'd that Charles Smith late of Upper South Sassafras hundred in Shrewsbury parish in the County afd planter the nineteenth day of June anno Dom. seventeen hundred thirty and eight was possessed of a house in the same hundred and County and within the Jurisdiction of this Court being and then and there was the chief person and Master of the family in the same house then residing and that William Simcocks Constable of the same hundred duely Authorised and Quallified the same ninteenth day of June in the year afd did repair in person to the same house and did then and there require of the said Charles a True list from under his hand distinctly naming all the Taxable persons which he then had with in his said family And altho the same Charles Smith then and there did give unto the same William a list and Account of Sundry Taxable persons in his said family hen residing Yet he the same the same Charles Smith the Laws of this province little weighing or regarding Thomas Ellitt a Taxable person in his said family then residing in the said Cause to be written down or mentioned but the same Thomas Ellitt to be a Taxable person from the knowledge of the same Constable then and there did conceal contrary to the form of the Act of Assembly Intituled an Act for the Appointment of Constables and what relates to their Office and Ascertainng what persons Are Taxables and against the peace of the said |
