The said bill was then returned to the Senate.

Mr. Stirling, introduced a bill entitled, an act to regulate
the compensation of the Judges of the Orphans' Court for
Baltimore city;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Judiciary.

The House took up for consideration, the preamble and
resolution offered by Mr. Bacon, in reference to removing
obstructions to navigation in the head waters of the Chesa-
peake bay.

The said resolution was read the second time, assented to,
and sent to the Senate.

Vaughan Smith, committee clerk, appeared, and was duly
qualified by the Speaker.

The Speaker announced that Mr. Contee had been placed
on the committee on Colored Population, in place of Mr. Kil-
gour, and that Mr. Kennard had been placed on the commit-
tee on Internal Improvements, in place of Mr. Gray.

On motion of Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore county,
The rules were suspended, and

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations, to bring
in a bill to incorporate the Old Road Turnpike Company in
Baltimore county.
