of the bailiffs, crier, and talesmen of the Circuit Court for
Carroll county;

Endorsed, "passed, by yeas and nays."
Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on Judiciary;

Also, delivered the following message:

By the Senate,
January 19th, 1858.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message proposing the concurrence
of this body with your House, in granting authority to the
joint committee on the Maryland Hospital, to visit the city of
Baltimore, in order to more fully perform their duty of ex-
amining into its condition and exigencies, and concur therein.

Secretary.
Which was read.

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
Citizens' Insurance Company of the city of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Wickes, from the committee on the Library, reported
favorably upon a bill entitled, an act to provide for procuring
for the State Library, copies of sundry papers relating to the
history of the colony of Maryland;

Which was read the first time.

The said bill was then read the second time by special order.

Mr. Contee, moved to strike out " five hundred dollars,"
wherever it occurs in said bill, and insert in lieu thereof,
"seven hundred and fifty dollars;"

Determined in the negative.

The said bill was then read the third time by special order,
and passed, by yeas and nays, as follows:
