in district No. 25, of said county;

Which was referred to the Caroline delegation.

Mr. Tongue, presented a petition for the passage of a law
appointing an inspector of all substances sold as manures;

Which was referred to the committee on Inspections.

Mr. Welling, presented the petition of the citizens of
Elkridge Landing in Howard county, for an act to prevent
swine, goats, &c, running at large;

Which was referred to the Howard county delegation.

Mr. Stirling, presented a petition of 150 mercantile firms of
Baltimore city, against a change in the Inspection laws;

Which was referred to the committee on Inspections.

Mr. Harrington, presented a memorial of John J. Laty,
asking to he refunded certain moneys paid for commissions to
the State;

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Harrington, presented a memorial of Edward O'Leary,
asking to he refunded certain money paid the State for com-
missions ;

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Stirling, presented a memorial of the Judges of the
Orphans' Court of Baltimore city, asking an increase of per
diem;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Sudler, of Queen Anne's, presented the report of the
trustees of the Centreville Academy;

Which was read and referred to the committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Harrington, offered the following order:

Ordered, That the Librarian he directed to furnish each
member of the House and the clerks with a penknife of the
same kind furnished the members of the Senate;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Koons, offered the following order:

Ordered, That the committee on Judiciary be instructed to
inquire into the expediency of enacting a law making the de-
cision of the county Surveyor final in all cases of disputed
lines and boundaries of uncultivated mountain land in this
State, and report by bill or otherwise;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Duvall, offered the following order:
