The bill entitled, an act to regulate the issuing of licen-
ses to ordinary keepers and traders; *
Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Hanway proposed the following amendment:

At the end of the 2d section, add, "Provided, if said ap-
plicant lives out of the county or State, his agent may apply
for license as provided by this section;"

Which was assented to.

Mr. Ford, of Baltimore county, proposed the following
amendment:

Add at the end of the 6th section the following: "provided,
that nothing contained in this act shall be so construed as to
allow peddlers to traffic or trade in spirituous liquors in any
manner whatever;"

Which was assented to.

Mr. Thruston proposed the following amendment:

Add at the end of the 6th section, "and provided further,
that the oath or affirmation required by the 5th and 6th sec-
tions of this act may, in the several counties of this State,
be made before a Justice of the Peace, and a copy of such oath
or affirmation shall be filed with the clerk of the county to
whom application is made;"

Which was assented to.
Mr. Belt proposed the following amendment:

"Sec. 16. And be it enacted, That any person who may take
out a license, under the provisions of this act, as an ordinary
keeper, or retailer of goods, or storekeeper, shall be able and
entitled to sell and dispose of any spirituous or malt liquors
without taking out any additional license, or paying any sum
in addition to that paid for his license as a retailer;"

Which was not assented to.

Was then read the second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Said bill was then read the third time, by special order,
three-fourths of all the members concurring, and passed by
yeas and nays, as follow:
