ment of cases before the Court of Appeals by the appoint-
ment of the Governor;

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Kidd, presented the petition of S. Harvey Jack, Sur-
veyor of Cecil county, for the establishment of a true meridian
in each of the counties, for the better regulating and system-
atizing land surveying in this State;

Which was referred to the committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Stirling, presented a memorial with reference to the
Maryland Hospital, which was referred to a joint committee
already appointed for that purpose.

On motion of Mr. Harrington,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill for an act to incor-
porate the Specie Certificate Bank of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Moore,

Leave was granted to the Somerset delegation, to introduce
a bill for the increase of the per diem allowance of the Com-
missioners of Somerset county.

On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Leave was granted to the committee on the Judiciary, to
bring in a bill to provide for the confession of judgments by
way of supersedeas in the courts of this State.

On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
bring in a bill further to amend an act entitled, an act to In-
corporate the Mechanic's Exchange and Savings Company,
for the purpose of making loans, collections of notes and drafts,
&c., passed January session 1852.

Mr. Summers, offered the following order:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims be instructed to
pay James W. Leggett and Charles J. Nesbitt, of Washing-
ton county, the usual per diem, and mileage paid members
from said county;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Summers, offered the following order:

Ordered, That so much of the order passed by this House
on Friday last, as requires the printer to furnish each mem-
ber of this House with five copies of the Senate Journal daily,
be and the same is hereby rescinded;

Which was adopted.
