Wills in the State, for the entry of claims passed by the
Register and Orphans' Court against deceased persons, passed
January session, 1854, chapter 86;

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act in favor of the Maryland State
Agricultural Society;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to cede jurisdiction to the United
States over land required by the Government thereof, within
the limits of this State, for purposes authorised by the Con-
stitution and laws of the United States;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Neale,

The rules were suspended and leave was granted the com-
mittee on Corporations to introduce a bill to incorporate Point
Lookout Oyster Company.

Mr. Hobbs, offered the following order:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims be requested to
provide for the payment of such and so many clerks, either
of the House or Senate, who shall be compelled to remain at
the Capitol after the close of the present session for the pur-
pose of engrossing bills, &c.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Crowley, from a select committee, to whom was re-
ferred ,

The petition from eighty-one citizens of Anne Arundel
county, living on and near the waters of the Patapsco
River, praying the passage of a law to prohibit free negroes
from fishing and crabbing in said waters;

Reported unfavorably thereon.
On motion of Mr. Belt,

The rules were suspended and the bill entitled, an act to
amend an act entitled, an act to provide for the opening of a
docket by the Register of Wills in this State, for the entry of"
claims passed by the Register and Orphans' Court against
deceased persons, passed January session, 1854, chapter 86.

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follow:
