ernor to the said General Insurance Company of Maryland,
and of granting powers in regard thereto; also,

Favorably on a bill entitled, an act authorising the George's
Creek Coal and Iron Company to increase its rate for trans-
portation over its Railroad.

Mr. Hobbs from the committee on Printing made the fol-
lowing

REPORT:

The joint committee on Printing beg leave to report that
they have contracted with Thomas J. Wilson, for the
printing of one thousand copies of the acts and resolutions
passed at the present session of the General Assembly, on
paper at least equal in quality to that on which the Laws of
eighteen hundred and fifty-six were printed, at the rate of
one dollar and seventy-five cents per page of sixteen hundred
and fifty ems, the said copies to be delivered in sheets to the
State Librarian, within fifty days after the adjournment of
the present Legislature.

And the committee further report that that the said Thom-
as J. Wilson has entered into a bond to the State of Mary-
land in the penalty of one thousand dollars, conditioned for
the proper and faithful performance of his contract. The com-
mittee further report that they have contracted with J. D.
Brumbaugh, Esq., for preparing an index to -the acts and
resolutions and supervising the proof sheets of the same, for
the sum of one hundred and twenty-four dollars, and for in-
dexing the public documents of the present session for the
sum of fifty dollars.

All of which is respectfully submitted.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Harrington from the committee on Corporations report-
ed favorably on a the following bill:

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Allegany county
Bank;

Mr. Magruder, from the committee on Education, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an act to provide a mode for the
more convenient and effectual establishment and support and
government of Public Schools in the several counties of this
State and the city of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time.
