Mr. Harrington, from the committee on corporations, made
the following report:
The committee on Corporations having had under conside-
ration the matters submitted to them in reference to the
Greensborough Bank, in Caroline county, beg leave to report
the following resolutions as the result of their investiga-
tions:
Resolved, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor of this State be and he is hereby authorised, with
as little delay as possible, to appoint counsel, who shall be
required to apply to the Judge of the Circuit Court of Caro-
line county for a writ of injunction, to be issued to the Far-
mers and Merchants' Bank of Greensborough, enjoining and
commanding them to suspend all further operations until
such time as it shall be determined whether or not the charter
of said bank has been forfeited.
And be it further resolved, That the said counsel so ap-
pointed by the Governor, be and is hereby directed to apply
to the Circuit Court for Caroline county for a writ of fieri
facias, to be directed to the president and directors of said
bank, commanding them on a day therein named .to be and
appear before the said Circuit Court, for Caroline county,
to show cause if any they have, why the charter of said
bank should not be forfeited; and the said counsel is hereby
also directed and required to make application to the Judge
of the said Court for the appointment of a receiver to take
charge of the funds of said bank, for the benefit of its credi-
tors, until such time as the question shall be decided as to
the forfeiture of its charter; and the said counsel is further
directed to cause all such further and other proceedings to be
had in the premises as in the judgment of said judge may be
necessary to secure the appointment of the funds of this bank,
and the interests of all parties in any way interested in said
bank.
And be it further resolved, That the Governor be and is
hereby requested to furnish a copy of these resolutions to the
counsel by him appointed, whose compensation shall not ex-
ceed the sum of --------dollars.

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on the following bill:
A bill entitled, an act confirmatory of the title of the Gene-
ral Insurance Company of Maryland to the Franklin Turn-
pike Road, and of the license to erect and fix gates across the
same and collect tolls thereupon, heretofore issued by the Gov-
