The bill entitled, An act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, to issue certificates of debt, to be de-
nominated "Water Stock,"

Was read the second time.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-
cation, from the Treasurer of Maryland:

To the Hon. J. S. Berry,

Speaker of the House of Delegates,

Sir :—In compliance with an order of this House of the 14th
instant, "requesting the Treasurer of Maryland to furnish the
House with the amount of bonds issued by the Annapolis and
Elk Ridge Rail Road Company, under the provisions of
the act of December session 1841, passed March 1st, 1842,
what amount of said bonds have been redeemed, and what
amount of money, if any, directed by the said act to be ap-
plied to the payment of the interest on said bonds remains
unappropriated; also the names of the parties now holding
said bonds.'' The Treasurer submits the following statement:
