Mr. Ford, of Cecil, from a select committee, reported favor-
ably on a bill entitled, an act to alter the district line between
the Fifth, Sixth and Ninth Districts of Cecil county;

Which were read the first time.

Mr. Rogers, from a select committee, made the following
REPORT:

Mr. Rogers, from the select committee consisting of the
Baltimore City Delegation, reports that they have had un-
der consideration a bill referred to said committee and enti-
tled, an act relating to the Justices of the Peace in and for
the City of Baltimore; locating their places of business; pro-
viding for the payment of their fees in criminal cases, and
providing for the election and appointment of two additional
Justices for the Tenth Ward, in said city; and that said com-
mittee have instructed him to report the same to the House
for their action, but without giving any opinion upon its
merits.

Which was read.

Mr. Rogers, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a bill entitled, an act to authorise the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Baltimore to establish and enforce an inspection and
measurement of gas and gas meters in that city;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Rogers, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a bill entitled, an act to widen New or Long Dock, in
the City of Baltimore, by the removal of a part of that por-
tion of Dugan's wharf, owned by the State of Maryland, and
appropriating a sum of money therefor;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Ways and Means.

Mr. McKinstry, from a select committee, reported favor-
ably on a bill entitled, an act to authorise and empower com-
missioners therein named to condemn an alley in the town of
Frizzlesburg, in Carroll county.

Mr. Alexander from a select committee, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act confirmatory of certain, ordinances
approved by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and
providing for the more speedy collection of arrearages of taxes;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Riddlemoser, from a select committee, reported favora-
bly on a bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled, an act
to incorporate a company to construct a turnpike road from
Hagerstown, in Washington county, to Smithsburg, passed
January session, 1853, chapter 247;

Which was read the first time.
