"Baltimore street excepted ;"
Which was assented to

Mr. McPherson proposed the following amendment:
In section 3, line 32, strike out the word "determined" and

insert "shall determine;"

Which was assented to.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, proposed the following
amendment:

In line 1, section 7, strike out the word " hereinafter" and
insert "herein;"

Which was assented to.

Mr. Stirling proposed the following amendment :
In section 2, lines 5 and 6, strike out the words "on such
terms as they or a majority of them may designate or choose;"
Which was assented to.

The said bill, as amended, was then read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Rogers,
The rules were suspended, and

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Maryland
and East India Company for commercial and other purposes
therein mentioned.

On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Leave was granted to the committee on Currency to intro-
duce a bill to prohibit the circulation of bank notes in this
State of banks of other States, under the denomination of
twenty dollars.

On motion of Mr. Davis,

Leave was granted the Cecil and Kent county delegations
to bring in a bill to change the boundary line of Election Dis-
trict, No. 9, in Cecil county.

On motion of Mr. Stirling,

Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the West India and South Ame-
rican Steamship Company of Baltimore.

Mr. Alexander introduced a bill entitled, an act to pro-
hibit the circulation in this State of bank notes of banks of
other States, under the denomination of twenty dollars;

Which was read the first time.
