Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money for
the use of James G. Henning, Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Montgomery county.

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to refund to Horace Resley, of Al-
legany county, money erroneously paid by him into the Treas-
ury;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled, an act for the relief of the sheriff
of Kent county,

Being upon its second reading ;

Mr. Wickes proposed the following amendment:

After the word county in the 3d line of 1st section, insert
"at the discretion of the County Commissioners of said coun-
ty;" and strike out the word "required," in the 5th line 1st
section, and insert the word "empowered;"

Which was assented to;

And said bill, as amended, read a second time.

The bill entitled, an act to increase the compensation of the
crier of the Circuit Court for Allegany county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to define and limit the fees and
compensation of the surveyor of Charles county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

A bill entitled, an act to regulate the compensation of
jurors in Prince George's county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

A bill entitled, an act to refund to Thomas B. Billingsley,
late sheriff of Calvert county, a certain sum of money;

Was read the second time, and ordered to engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay Nathaniel Duke, late clerk of the Circuit Court for Cal-
vert county, for certain fees due him by the State;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
