606           JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS          Feb. 26,

The bill entitled, an act supplemental to an act passed at
December session, 1845, entitled an act to incorporate the
Newton University,

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the stockholders of a
female seminary in Chestertown;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Belair and
Frogtown Turnpike Road Company,

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Hanway proposed the following amendment:
Section 9, line 5, strike out all after the word "size."

Which was assented to.

The bill as amended was read the second time, and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion the House adjourned.

FRIDAY, February 26th, 1858.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by Rev. Mr.
Graff.
