sureties on the official bond of John W. Willson, former col-
lector of State taxes for the Second District of Calvert county;

Favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to refund to
James G. Henning and William Thompson of R., a sum of
money erroneously paid into the Treasury, by the said James
G. Henning and William Thompson of R., on their office, in
the years 1852 and 1853; also,

Unfavorably on a bill entitled, an act to regulate and re-
strict the granting of licenses to retail intoxicating liquors in
the city of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act for the relief
of the sureties on the official bond of Phillips J. Connell; also,

Favorably the bill entitled, an act to allow N. J. Lankford,
late sheriff and collector of Somerset county, further time to
complete his collections;

Mr. Schnebly, from a select committee reported favorably on
a bill entitled, an act authorising the County Commissioners
of Washington county to enlarge, extend, modify or add to
the court house in Washington county, and to levy a sum of
money for the cost thereof;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Grieves, from the committee on Colored Population, re-
ported unfavorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate
the First Colored Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons
of the State of Maryland;

Which was read the first time ;

Mr. Welling offered the following order :                 v

Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary, enquire
whether any and what legislation is necessary to enforce by
adequate penalties that part of the 5th section of the 7th
article of the Constitution which prohibits the drawing of
any lottery scheme, and the sale of any lottery ticket in this
State after the 1st day of April 1859, and report by bill or
otherwise;
