580              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 25,

A petition of coal operators and others, citizens of Alle-
gany county, remonstrating against any amendment of the
charter of the George's Creek Coal and Iron Company, allow-
ing the said company to increase its charges for the transpor-
tation of coal.

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations;

Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city, presented the memorial of
A. McCullough and eighty-five other citizens of Baltimore, in
favor of granting the petition of John Cathers to practice his
remedy and method of curing cancer;

Which was referred to the special committee already ap-
pointed on the subject.

On motion of Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore county,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Windsor Turnpike Road Com-
pany.

On motion of Mr. Dail,

Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill for the relief of Francis P. Phelps, of Dorchester
county.

On motion of Mr. Hanway,

Leave was granted to the committee on Colored Population
to report a bill entitled an act to enable Eliza Ann Francis
and Eliza Jane Francis, of Harford county, to inherit the
real and personal estate of Corbin Francis, late of said county,
deceased.

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on Corporations re-
ported favorably on the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Port Herman and
Delaware Railroad Company;

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Barton Coal
Company;

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the West African
Trading Company;

A bill entitled an act to incorporate the Patuxent factory;
Which were severally read the first time.

Favorably on the bill entitled, a supplement to the act en-
titled, an act to incorporate the Connowingo Bridge Company;
Which was read the first time; also,

Favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the
act to incorporate the Elkton and Sassafras River Railroad
Company, passed January session, 1856, chapter 241.
