Mr. McGonigal presented a petition from William B. Mas-
sey, Thomas D. Case, and thirty-two other citizens of Caro-
line county, to widen the draw of Denton bridge, across the
Choptank river;

Which was referred to the Caroline county delegation.

Mr. Davis presented a petition from G. A. Thompson, J.
Peach, jr., Charles A. Bryan and other citizens of Cecil coun-
ty, praying the passage of an act to incorporate the Port Her-
man and Delaware Line railroad company;

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Riddlemoser presented a petition from sundry citizens
of Cavetown, in Washington county, praying the passage of
an act increasing the premium on fox scalps to two dollars;
: Which was referred to the Washington county delegation.

Mr. Davis presented a petition from J. S. Addison, John
Scott, L. H. Purnell and fifteen other citizens of Cecil county,
asking for a law to be enacted to prevent the running of cat-
tle at large on the Highways or roads;

Which was referred to the committee on Roads and High-
ways.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition from Samuel G.
Hopkins and John Donovon, of Talbot county, asking the
refunding of certain moneys;

Which was referred to the Talbot county delegation.

Mr. Hanway presented the petition of David G. McCoy and
others, praying for an act to rebuild the Conowingo bridge;

Which was referred to the Cecil and Harford county dele-
gations.

Mr. Reindollar presented the memorial of Benjamin Shunk
and others, praying the repeal of the law imposing a fine up-
on clergymen marrying persons under age without the assent
of their parents or guardians;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the Commissioners of
Anne Arundel county to levy a sum of money therein men-
tioned, for the support of the primary schools therein men-
tioned;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays, with proposed amend-
ments."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

"Section 3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
