The bill entitled, an act for the "better regulation of Primary
Schools in Howard county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to protect the public bridge at
Crompton in Queen Anne's county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act authorising the Commissioners of
Centreville Queen Anne's county, to levy a tax upon the real
property in said town, sufficient to pave the sidewalks thereof

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from John
Stafford and wife of Caroline county, to R. J. Draper,
of said county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to compensate Josiah H. Gordon,
for legal services ;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to make valid the recording of a
deed from William Williams and wife, to George David
Racine, by the clerk of the Circuit Court for Cecil county ;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to appoint an additional constable
in Election District No. 4, in Somerset county ;

Being upon its second reading;

Mr. Waller proposed the following amendments:

Strike out the preamble.

Add section 3. "And be it enacted," that an additional
constable may be appointed according to the provisions of the
1st section of this act for Election District No. 15, or Tangier
District of Somerset county, until the next general election,
and make section 3, section 4 ;

Which were assented to.

And the bill as amended, ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to provide for the relief of the poor
and indigent person of Somerset county;
