MONDAY, February 22d, 1858.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by Rev. Mr.
Veitch.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members:
Messrs. Berry, Sp'r, Morgan, Wickes, Meginnis, Mackubin,
Griffiss, Magruder, Stonestreet, Allender, Ford, of Baltimore
county, Lynch, of Baltimore county, Clarke, Goldsborough,
Waller, Moore, Tilghman, Dail, Grieves, Davis, Ford, of Ce-
cil, Wyville, Contee, Larrimore, Sudler, of Queen Anne's,
Landing, Spence, Hearn, Harding, Root, Koons, Hanway,
Baker, Todd, Stirling, Rogers, McPherson, Smith, of Bal-
timore city, Kennard, Lynch, of Baltimore city, Crowley,
Alexander, Summers, Schnebly, Riddlemoser, Duvall, Wor-
thing ton, Kilgour, Barnard, Mountz, Reindollar, Dorsey.
The proceedings of Saturday were read.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage :

By the Senate,

February 20th, 1858.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully request you to return to us a bill entitled,
an act "To incorporate a Female Seminary at Chestertown."

By Order,

C. Harwood, Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and the said bill returned to
the Senate.

Mr. Kilgour moved a re-consideration of the vote on the
bill passed Saturday, Feb. 20th, 1858, entitled, a supplement
to an act entitled, an act to incorporate the School Commis-
sioners of Baltimore county ;

Which was determined in the affirmative, and
The said bill reconsidered to its second reading.
On motion of Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore county,

Said bill was recommitted to the Baltimore county delega-
tion.

Mr. Baker presented a petition from forty-four citizens of
Harford county, praying for the passage of an act to rebuild
the court house, and other purposes, &c.

Which was referred to the Harford county delegation.

Mr. Meginnis presented a petition from John W. Pierson
and thirty-nine other citizens of George Town X Roads, to
change the name of said George Town X Roads to "Galena,"
and to incorporate said Cross Roads;
