The bill entitled, an act to confirm and make valid a deed
from John L. Hawkins and Augusta A. Hawkins, his wife, to
Henry A. Barron ;

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to allow A. E. Borman and Richard
Grason extra compensation for services rendered at the Circuit
Court of Harford county ;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act for the relief of the sureties on the
bond of William Goldsborough, former collector of taxes of
Queen Anne's county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Robert
H. Powell and Elizabeth Powell, his wife, to Benjamin
Bassett;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Mutual Fire In-
surance Company of Carroll County ;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Magruder proposed the following amendments:

Section 1, line 7, after the word " Harrison," add the word
" and;" strike out the words " and John Bond ;"

Section 5, line 4, strike out the words, "Thomas J. Gra-
hame," and insert " Richard Roberts, John A. Sedgwick ;"
same section, lines 4 and 5, strike out the words " Joseph
Griffiss" and insert " Thomas R. Tongue, William Mac-
daniel, James S. Morrell, Jr." Line 6, strike out the words
"John Bond," after the word " Griffiss" add the word "and;"

Which were assented to, and

The said bill, as amended, ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The Senate bill entitled, an act to amend the acts passed
December session, 1843, chapter 174, and December session,
1849, chapter 373, reducing the tax on the auction licenses
for Allegany county, referred to in said acts;

Was read the second time.

The bill entitled, an act for the relief of the Maryland Hos-
