Said bill was re-committed to the committee on Corpora-
tions.

The bill entitled, an act to alter and amend the charter of
the Somerset and Worcester Saving's Bank,
Being upon its second reading;

On motion of Mr. Stirling,
Said bill was re-committed to the committee on Currency.

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Maryland Mutual
Life and Fire Insurance Company;

Being upon its second reading;

Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city, proposed the following
amendment:

In section 11, line 5, after the word "and," insert "within
ten days thereafter;"

Which was assented to.

The said bill as amended was then read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the People's Mining
Company,

Being upon its second reading;

Mr. Kilgour proposed the following amendment:

In the 1st section, line 5, strike out the word "Peoples,"
and insert "Carroll;"

Which was assented to.

The said bill as amended was then read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Hazlewood Coal
Company;

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled, an act to
incorporate a company to make a turnpike road from Hagers-
town, in Washington county, to the Pennsylvania line, passed
December session, 1846, chapter 333;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an at to enlarge the powers of the Com-
missioners of the town of Easton, Talbot county;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled, a supplement to an act to amend
and modify the present primary school system of Charles
county, passed March 10th, 1834 ;
