The rules were suspended and he reported favorably from
the committee on Education, the Senate bill entitled, an act
for the establishment of a uniform system of Public Education
in the State of Maryland ;

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,

The House resumed the consideration of the bill entitled; an
act to prohibit the Courts of this State, and the Judges and
Clerks thereof from receiving declarations of intention of be-
coming citizens of the United States, and from granting cer-
tificates of naturalization.

On motion of Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city,

A call of the House was ordered, when it appeared that
fifty-nine members were present.

On motion of Mr. Stirling,
The Doorkeeper was sent to summon the absent members.
