46               JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS             [Jan. 13,

Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary, to introduce
a bill for the better observance of the Sabbath day in Baltimore
city.

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

Leave was granted to the Talbot county delegation, to intro-
duce "An Act for the sale and distribution under the order of the
Orphan's Court of Talbot county, of the real estate of John
Banks, free negro.

On motion of Mr. Day,

Leave was granted to the committee on Colored Population,
to report a bill relative to the negro population of our State hold
ing camp or protracted meetings.

On motion of Mr. Wyville,

Leave was granted to the Prince George's county delegation,
to introduce a bill to incorporate the Town of Upper Marlboro'.

On motion of Mr. Stonestreet,

Leave was granted to the Allegany and Charles counties, dele-
gation to remove a record from Allegany county to Charles county.

On motion of Mr. Thruston,

Leave was granted to the committee on the Judiciary, to bring
in a bill to establish a uniform rate of compensation for Judges
and Clerks of election in this State.

On motion of Mr. Stirling,

Leave was granted to the committee on the Judiciary, to introduce
a bill to authorize the Circuit court of Baltimore city, to pass a
decree for the sale of certain Real Estate belonging to the Third
Presbyterian Church of the city of Baltimore, and others.

On motion of Mr. Stirling,

Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary, to introduce
a bill to regulate the compensation of the Judges of the Orphans'
court of Baltimore city.

On motion of Mr. Belt,

Leave was granted to the committee on the Judiciary, to in-
troduce a bill to authorise Clerks of courts and Register of Wills
in the several counties of this State to take acknowledgments of
deeds and of other instruments as the same are now taken by
Justices of the Peace.

On motion of Mr. Belt,

Leave was granted to the committee on Colored Population,
to report a bill for the better regulation and disposition of the
Free Negro population of this State.
