Referred to the committee on Judiciary.                   

Mr. Kilbourne presented the memorial of Mary Chauvenet,

praying to have the sum of fifty-three dollars and thirty-three

cents, tax paid on commissions refunded to her;

Referred to committee on Claims.

Mr. Summers presented the affidavit of John Hefferstein, in re-
lation to the tie vote between Messrs. Nesbitt and Leggitt;

Referred to the committee on Elections.
Mr. Rogers offered the following order:

Ordered, That the Treasurer report to this House, forthwith,
whether the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company have paid
into the treasury of this State all moneys by said corporation due
to the State; and, if said corporation have not so paid, the rea-
son why, the amount, principle and interest of said deficit, and
if said payment should have been heretofore made when the fail-
ure to make the same first took place, and why ;

Which was adopted.                                       

Mr. Koons offered the following order :               

Ordered, That the printer to this House print, forthwith, for the
use of the same, three hundred copies of the list of the members
of the Senate and House of Delegates, and of the officers of those
bodies ;

Which was determined in the negative.
Mr. Belt offered the following order:

Ordered, That leave be granted to withdraw from the files of
the House, the petition of Mrs. Barbara Riley, of Washington
city, presented at the session of the Legislature, of December
session, 1833, praying for a pension;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Belt offered the following order :

Ordered, That the committee on Judiciary be instructed to in-
quire into the policy and practical effect of the State's patronage
of the Maryland Colonization Society, as to whether the same be
of any advantage to the slaveholding, or other interests of the
State; and to report thereon to this House as soon as possible ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Thomas, offered the following order:

Ordered, That the committee on Agriculture be instructed to
inquire into the expediency of repealing the act creating the office
of State Chemist, and report to this House, by bill, or other-
wise;

Which was adopted.
