Mr. Ford, of Baltimore county, from a select committee,
reported favorably on a bill entitled, a supplement to an act
entitled, an act to incorporate the Elysville Manufacturing
Company;

Which, was read the first time.

Mr. Worthington presented the report of the trustees of the
Brookville Academy;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Grieves, from the committee on Colored Population,
made the following,

REPORT.

The committee on Colored Population, to whom was refer-
red the application of Charles A. McCoy, of Port Deposit,
Cecil county, to remove from the State of Mississippi into this
State, a certain negro slave, respectfully report, that no ad-
ditional Legislation is necessary to grant the relief prayed for
by the petitioner.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Kilbourn presented a petition from citizens of Howard
and Anne Arundel counties, for the appointment of new
Commissioners to open the books of subscription for the stock
of the Patapsco Bank ;

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Contee moved to make the resolutions offered by him
in relation to the Lecompton Constitution be made the order
of the day for Friday 20th Februarys

Mr. Stirling moved to lay said motion on the table;
Which was determined in the negative.

Mr. Stirling moved that the consideration of said resolu-
tions be indefinitely postponed.

The yeas and nays were demanded, and appeared as fol-
low :
