Mr. Koons presented a petition from James W. Eichelber-
ger and others, citizens of Frederick county, praying an in-
crease of the powers of the County Surveyor of said county ;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Wyville presented a petition from B. F. Gwynn and
other citizens of Prince George's county, praying certain
relief;

Which was referred to the Prince George's county delega-
tion.

Mr. Kidd presented a petition from David Tucker and
twenty-four other citizens of Cecil county, in favor of a uni-
form system of Public Schools in said county ;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Ford, of Cecil, presented a petition from Samuel Far-
son, John F. Owen, Buddy White and fifty-six other citizens
of Cecil county, in favor of the passage of a school bill for
said county therein named ;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Harrington presented a memorial from sundry white
persons of Baltimore, asking the repeal of the act that prohibits
the colored persons from holding Religious Meetings in cer-
tain cases;

Which was referred to committee on Colored Population.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, presented a memorial from
sixteen citizens of Baltimore city, praying for a prohibitory
liquor law;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Goldsborough offered the following order :

Ordered, That the select committee, appointed to take tes-
timony in reference to the Pilot Laws, have leave to sit dur-
ing the session of this House ;

Which was adopted.                                                     

Mr. Grieves offered the following order :

Ordered, That five thousand copies of the message of the
late Governor, accompanied by the correspondence between
the Governor and the Mayor of Baltimore, the proclamations
of the Governor, and the joint resolutions of the General As-
sembly be printed;

Mr. Worthington moved to lay said order on the table.

Which was determined in the negative.

Mr. Mackubin proposed the following amendment,

Add at the end of said order, the words, "and the vote by
which said resolutions were adopted;"

Which was not assented to.
