Dail, Richardson, Grieves, Davis, Ford, of Cecil, Kidd, Belt,
Wyville, Contee, Larrimore, Sudler, of Queen Anne's, Land-
ing, Spence, Hearn, Thomas, Bowlus, Root, Koons, Hobbs,
Hanway, Bacon, Stirling, Rogers, McPherson, Smith, of
Baltimore city, Kennard, Lynch, of Baltimore city, Harring-
ton, Crowley, Forrest, Alexander, Rohrer, Summers, Gray,
Schnebly, Riddlemoser, Duvall, Worthington, Reindollar,
Day, Welling, and Dorsey.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Ford, of Cecil, presented a petition from Ann Thomas,
Rebecca Sewall, Mary M. Stout, Mary J. James, Ruthana
Thomas, R. E. Broughton, Martha Hughes, Cornelia Moffat,
and one hundred and sixteen other ladies of North East, in
Cecil county, praying the enactment of a law prohibiting the
Clerk of Cecil county Court to grant to any person a license
to sell spirituous liquors within the corporate limits of said
village, without the previous consent of a majority of the
voters of said village;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Wickes presented a petition from fifty-six citizens of
Kent county, praying for the passage of a "Lien Law" for
said county:

Which was referred to the Kent county delegation.

Mr. Rohrer presented a petition from sundry citizens of Dis-
trict No. 1, of Washington county, praying a change of the
boundary line between Districts Nos. 1 and 8, of said county;

Which was referred to the Washington county delegation.

Mr. Magruder presented a petition from Thomas R. Tongue,
of Calvert county, praying to be compensated for grievances
and losses incurred by him, by the seizure of his schooner, by
citizens of Anne Arundel county ;

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Bacon presented a petition from one hundred and seven-
teen citizens of Harford county, praying that no law may be
passed prohibiting gillers from drafting over the berths or
bounds of the shore landings, when said landings are not in
use by the owners thereof;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary; also,

Presented a letter from Henry Barnes, on the same subject;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Harding presented a petition from C. A. Simmons and
thirty-one others, of Frederick county, praying the passage of
an act prohibiting free negroes from holding schools ;

Which was referred to committee on Colored Population.
