On motion of Mr. Spence,

Leave was granted to the Worcester county delegation, to
introduce a bill supplementary to an act passed on the 27th
February, 1856, chapter 19, to provide payment for the ser-
vices of assistant counsel for the State.

On motion of Mr. Alexander,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
bring in a bill to incorporate the City and Hampden Railroad
Company.

On motion of Mr. Larrimore,

Leave was granted to the Queen Anne's county delegation,
to introduce a bill for the relief of the securities of Geo. W.
Finley, late collector of Queen Anne's county.

On motion of Mr. Kennard,

Leave was granted to the committee on Inspections, to in-
troduce a bill entitled an act relating to the wages of laborers
employed in the State Tobacco Warehouses in the city of Bal-
timore ;

Mr. Stirling from the committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act in aid of the benevolent
objects of the corporation in the city of Baltimore, created
under act of Assembly of 1852, chapter 237, called the "Home
of the Friendless," by enabling them to have committed
legally to their care and control the destitute children who
are the subjects of their charity ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Dail from the committee on Claims, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay Nathaniel Duke, late clerk of the Circuit court for Cal-
vert county, for certain fees due him by the State ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Dail from the committee on Claims, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money to pay
Eliza Hering, executor of Wm. H. Hering, for a commission
under an appointment of the Governor of Maryland, paid by
the said Wm. H. Hering in his lifetime, to the clerk of the
Superior Court of Baltimore city ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Belt from a select committee, reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act to regulate the compensation of Jurors in
Prince George's county;

Which was read the first time; also,

Reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to allow the
clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's county, to draw
