Said bill was referred to the committee on Ways and
Means.

Mr. Rogers, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a bill entitled, an act allowing the Junior Artillerists of Bal-
timore city to receive a limited number of honorary members
who shall be exempt from service as jurors;

Which was read the first time.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled, a
supplement to the act entitled, an act to incorporate the Trus-
tees of the Sheppard Asylum, passed 24th day of May, 1853:

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays," without amend-
ment; also, returned

The bill entitled, an act directing the Comptroller to pay to
Louisa Gassaway the residue of the pension due to her moth-
er, Mrs. Elizabeth Gassaway, at the time of her death;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays," with proposed
amendments.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In the title of the bill, after the word "the" insert "Treas-
urer on the warrant of the."

Sec. 4, line 2, after the word "the," insert Treasurer on
the warrant of the;"
