the Senate bill entitled, an act to provide for the relief of the
poor and indigent persons of Somerset county ;

With proposed amendments.

Mr. Rogers, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Baltimore city Pas-
senger Railroad Company ;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the committee
.on Corporations.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore county, offered the following
order:

Ordered, That the Chairman of the committee on Corpo-
rations, report immediately the bill relating to "Green
Spring Avenue ;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on Corporations, made
the following,

REPORT.

The committee on Corporations, having had under consider-
ation the bill entitled, an act to incorporate the ''Green Spring
Avenue Company," and being fully satisfied as to the cor-
porate powers of said Company, beg leave to report favorably
on the same, in regard to said power and without any refer-
ence to the facts connected with the controversy now pending
before the Legislature as to the rights of the parties interest-
ed.

Which was accepted.

Mr. Ford, of Baltimore county, moved to make said bill
the order of the day for next Tuesday ;

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the day,
the House took up for consideration the bill entitled, an act
for the establishment of a Normal or Training School for teach-
ers, and an office in connection therewith for the collection
and dissemination of information on the subject of education,
at St. John's College, in the city of Annapolis.

Mr. Belt, moved to postpone the consideration of said bill
until Thursday next.

Determined in the negative.
On motion of Mr. Dail,

The rules were suspended, and he reported favorably from
the committee on Claims, a bill entitled, an act appropriating
a sum of money for the payment of the claims of John W.
