of Somerset county, to purchase a new seal, and to provide
for the better preservation of the records in their office;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Todd, from a select committee, reported favorably on
the bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from John Staf-
ford and wife, of Caroline county, to Richard J. Draper, of
said county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Larrimore, from a special committee, reported favor-
ably on a bill entitled, an act authorising the Commissioners
of Centreville, Queen Anne's county, to lay a tax upon the
real property in said town sufficient to pave the sidewalks
thereof;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Moore, from a special committee, reported favorably on
a Senate bill entitled, an act relating to the public road divid-
ing the counties of Somerset and Worcester;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. McKinstry, from a select committee, reported favorably
on the bill entitled, and an act to secure the more speedy pay-
ment of the baliff's of the Circuit Court for Carroll county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Summers, from a select committee, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act to allow the Clerk of the Circuit
court for Washington county, further time within which to
place his fees in the hands of the Sheriff for collection, and
repealing the 11th section of the act of 1779, chapter 25, so
far as relates to said county ;

Which was read the first time.
On motion of Mr. Alexander,

The rules were suspended, and the bill entitled, an act to
authorise incorporated churches, congregations, and religious
societies to sell and convey their property ;

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follow :
