Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Crowley presented a petition from twenty-four Con-
stables of Baltimore city, asking for increase of fees ;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Mackubin presented a memorial from sundry citizens
of Anne Arundel county, protesting against the repeal of
the law prohibiting the use of sink boats ;

Which was referred to the special committee already ap-
pointed.

Mr. Belt presented a petition from sundry citizens of Bla-
densburg, Prince George's county, praying an act amending
the charter of the Bladensburg Academy;

Which was referred to the Prince George's county delega-
tion.

Mr. Belt presented a petition from the heirs and legal repre-
sentatives of Lilburn Williams, an officer in the war of the
Revolution, praying for remuneration therein mentioned;

Which was referred to the committee on Pensions.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, presented a memorial from
fifty-three citizens of Baltimore, asking a prohibitory liquor
aw in this State ;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Gray presented a petition from one hundred citizens of
Washington county, opposed to the repeal of the exemption
law ;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Kidd presented a petition from John W. Holt and
twenty other citizens of Cecil county, against the passage of
an act to establish a system of Common Schools for said
county ;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Kidd presented a petition from Lawrence Sentman,
George A. Garrett, and fifty-eight other citizens of Cecil
county, against the passage of an act to establish Common
Schools in said county ;

Which was referred to the committee on Education ;

Mr. Kilgour offered the following order :

Ordered, That the committee on Ways and Means, be in-
structed to enquire into the expediency of establishing a State
Bank, to be located at Annapolis, with her branches, one on
the Eastern and one on the Western Shore;

Mr. Stirling moved to lay said order on the table ;

Which was determined in the affirmative.
