The House met.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Messrs. Berry, Wickes, Tongue, Griffiss, Burgess, Walker,
Ford, of B. co., Lynch, of B. co., Smith, of B. co., Golds-
borough, Waller, Moore, Sudler, of Somerset, Tilghman, Dail,
Richardson, Davis, Ford, of Cecil, Kidd, Belt, Wyville, Lar-
rimore, Landing, Harding, Bowlus, Root, Hobbs, Bacon,
Baker, Todd, McGonigal, Stirling, Rogers, McPherson, Smith
of Balt. city, Kennard, Harrington, Crowley, Rohrer, Duvall,
Worthington, Thruston, Kilgour, Barnard. Mountz, Mc-
Kinstry, Day.

The bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Annapolis Coal
Company,

Was read the second time, and ordered to he engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to amend and explain an act, pass-
ed January session, 1856, Ch. 119, entitled, an act for the
relief of Thomas H. Osborne, of Charles, former collector for
the 3d election district of Prince George's county ;

Was read the second time, and ordered to he engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to set apart the real estate of Balti-
more county, known as the Almshouse property, for the pay-
ment of the public debt of said county, and for dedicating the
same to the reduction of the direct taxes of said county ;

Being upon its second reading,

Mr. Ford, of Baltimore county, proposed the following
amendment:

Add to the end of the last section, the words :—"Provided,
that nothing in this act shall be so construed as to apply to
such portion or portions of the said Almshouse property, as
may hereafter be purchased by said county ;"

Which was assented to, and

The said bill, as amended, was then read the second time,
and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act entitled, an
act to incorporate the proprietors of the Rose Bank Cemetery,
passed at February session, 1847, chapter 293 ;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an act to amend an act entitled, an act
to incorporate the President and Directors of the Howard Fire
Insurance Company of Baltimore, passed January session,
1856, chapter 55 ;
