the Speaker's Chair;

Mr. Kilgour proposed the following amendment:

On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

Mr. Harrington offered the following order:

Ordered, That the use of the library is hereby granted to
Elias Ware, Jr., a former Speaker of this House, for the pur-
pose of aiding him to prepare a work on parliamentary law;

Which was adopted;

Mr. Mackubin offered the following order:

Ordered, That bill 172 be made the order of the day for
Friday, the 12th instant;
Which was adopted.
Mr. Grieves offered the following order :

Ordered, That the Speaker be requested to appoint an ad-
ditional committee clerk, who shall be assigned to the com-
mittee on Colored Population;

Which was adopted.
