Ordered, That Mr. Thruston is absent to-day on the com-
mittee to visit the House of Refuge;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Moore,

Leave was granted the Somerset and Worcester delegations
to introduce a bill to repeal an act, passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and thirty-four, chapter one hundred
and nineteen, entitled, on act to regulate the sale of ardent
spirits within the village of Salisbury, in Somerset and Wor-
cester counties.

On motion of Mr. Sudler, of Somerset,

Leave was granted Messrs. Sudler, of Somerset, Griffiss
and Smith, of Baltimore city, to introduce a bill for the better
regulation of the measure of sweet potatoes in this State;

On motion of Mr. Ford, of Baltimore county,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation, to
bring in a bill for the relief of Joshua H. Hynes, and Samuel
P. Storm, late sheriffs of Baltimore county;

On motion of Mr. Meginnis,

Leave was granted to the Kent and Queen Anne's county
delegations, to introduce a bill to make the bridge over Ches-
ter River at Chestertown, free to the citizens of Kent and
Queen Anne's counties;

On motion of Mr. Meginnis,

Leave was granted to the Kent and Queen Anne's county
delegations, to introduce a bill for the protection of » bridge at
Crompton Ferry, in Kent and Queen Anne's counties;

On motion of Mr. Stirling,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Baltimore City Guard;

On motion of Mr. Magruder.

Leave was granted to the Calvert county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insurance Com-
pany, of Calvert county;

On motion of Mr. Sudler, of Somerset,

Leave was granted to the committee on Claims, to intro-
duce a bill to compensate John Cullum for certain moneys
expended by him in execution of the laws for the protection
of oysters in the waters in this State;

On motion of Mr. Hobbs,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to incorporate the "America Band" of
Frederick city;
