tachment in certain cases.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stirling, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act to empower administra-
tors de bonis non, to recover for devastavit committed by an
executor or administrator.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Thruston, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act to protect the proprietors
of mineral lands in Allegany county,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Magruder, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to make valid a
deed from William H. Calvert and wife, to Eleanora A. Cal-
vert.

Mr. Magruder, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to provide for
making an index to judgments, &c, in the Circuit Court for
Caroline county, and for the re-binding of the index of the
Land Records, and directing the county commissioners to levy
by a tax, a sum sufficient to pay for the same; also,

Reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to make valid
a deed from John Lewis, attorney of Mary Turner, to Adam
Hilt,

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Thruston, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act to establish a uniform rate
of compensation for the Judges of the Orphans' Courts of the
several counties;         

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Sudler, of Somerset, the rules were sus-
pended and he offered the following order :

Ordered, That the Governors and Visitors of St. John's Col-
lege, be requested to furnish the House of Delegates with the
following information:

1st.—What is the origin of said college ?

2d.—What are, or have been, its various endowments ?.

3d.—How are its funds raised ?

4th.—What is the number of its graduates, and how many
have graduated each year ?

5th.—What is the average number of under graduates ?
6th.—What is number of professors and their salaries ?
