On motion of Mr. Stirling,
Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary, to bring
in a bill to enable the corporation of the Home of the Friend-
less, in Baltimore city, to have committed to it the legal cus-
tody of the destitute children who are the objects of the char-
ity of the Institution.
On motion of Mr. Baker,
Leave was granted to the Harford county delegation, to
report a bill for the protection of sheep in Harford county.
Mr. McPherson, from the committee on Lotteries, reported
unfavorably on a bill entitled, an act to prevent the introduc-
tion into the State of fraudulent lottery tickets, or authorised
lottery tickets of other States, or the United States;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Rogers, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on a bill entitled, an act to amend the act of As-
sembly, passed at December session, 1849, chapter 269, in so
far as relates to Carroll county;

property now belonging to the M. E. Church, situated in

gaining their freedom in certain cases;

police regulations and ordinances of the Burgess and Com-
missioners of the town of Sharpsburg, in Washington county;

Methodist Preacher's Aid Society of the East Baltimore Con-
