school district No. 10, in Howard county, for an act appoint-
ing commissioners to condemn a lot of land in the center of
said school district, to build a house on and for other purposes;

Which was referred to the Howard county delegation.

Mr. Welling presented a petition from twenty-four citizens
of Howard county, for a law to suppress the traffic in ardent
spirits;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Welling presented a petition from twenty-five ladies
and eight gentlemen, citizens of Howard county, for a prohi-
bitory liquor law:

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Welling presented a petition from fifty-one citizens,
ladies and gentlemen of Howard county, for a prohibitory
liquor law;

Which was referred to the committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city, presented a petition from
Mrs. Charlotte Pecor, formerly Sewell, for a pension;

Mr. Alexander presented the petition and accompanying pa-
per of N. Christopher and ninety others, citizens and traders of
Baltimore city, praying a modification in the license laws of
1856, chapter 353;

Mr. Hanway presented a petition from J. B. Standeford
and one hundred and forty-four other citizens, of Harford
county, for a public landing at Lapidum in said county;

Mr. Root presented a memorial from the President and
Directors of the Woodsborough and Frederick Turnpike Road
Company, stockholders and other citizens interested in the
road, praying a supplement to their charter;

Which was referred to the committee on Roads and High-
ways.

Mr. McPherson presented a petition and remonstrance from
the president and managers of the Baltimore and Reisters-
town Turnpike Road Company.

Which was read, and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Wickes presented a petition from fifty-three citizens of
Kent and Queen Anne's counties, to widen the "Draw" of
Chester bridge, at Chestertown;

Which was referred to the committee already appointed on
that subject.
