supplemental to the act of 1852, ch. 317, entitled, An act to
incorporate the Santa Clara Mining Association of Baltimore,
and to amend the said act of incorporation, so as to allow the
President and Directors of said Association, to assess the shares
of capital stock in said Association.
On motion of Mr. Griffiss,
Leave was granted to the Calvert county delegation to intro-
duce a bill, to authorize William Johnson, a free negro of Cal-
vert county, to dispose of his real and personal estate, by last
will and testament, or otherwise:
On motion of Mr. Burgess,
Leave was granted to the Charles county delegation, to bring
in a bill to increase the compensation of the Judges of the Or-
phans Court of Charles county.
On motion of Mr. Stirling,
Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, here-
after to be appointed, to introduce a Bill, to incorporate the
President and Directors of the Maryland Fire Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore city.
On motion of Mr. Stirling,
Leave was granted to the Judiciary committee, hereafter to be
appointed, to introduce a bill, to give jurisdiction to the United
States, over real estate purchased by the Government thereof,
within the limits of this State, for purposes authorized by the
Constitution of the United States.
On motion of Mr. Stirling,
Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary, hereafter
to be appointed, to introduce a bill, to give to the Circuit courts
of this State, jurisdiction to sell remainders and reversionary in-
terests in real estate.
On motion of Mr. Burgess,
Leave was granted to the committee of Judiciary, to intro-
duce a bill, to enlarge and define the jurisdiction of the Or-
phan's courts of this State.
On motion of Mr. Bacon, of Harford,
Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary to introduce
a bill to protect the breed of fish, and to prescribe the time of
fishing in the head waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
Mr. Spence offered the following order :
Ordered, That a special committee of five members of this
House be appointed by the Speaker, to investigate the expedi-
ency of establishing the Southern boundary of this State, be-
tween Somerset and Worcester counties, Maryland, and Acco-
mac county, Virginia; the same committee to report at the earli-
