On motion of Mr. Thruston,

Leave was granted the Allegany county delegation to bring
in a bill for the relief of the sureties on the official bonds of
Lloyd B. Smith.

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on the following Senate bill entitled, an act
amendatory of an act entitled, an act to provide for the for-
mation of corporations of moral, scientific, dramatic, agricul-
tural or charitable purposes, and passed May 13th, 1852, chap-
ter 31.                   

A bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act of Assembly,
passed at December session, 1834, chapter 87, and entitled, an
act to incorporate the trustees of the education fund, of the
Baltimore Annual Conference.

A bill entitled, an act to repeal the act of 1856, chapter
354, entitled, an act to charter the Patapsco Bank of Mary-
land.

Also, favorably on the following House bills:

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Old Road Turn-
pike Company, in Baltimore county: also,

A bill entitled, an act to alter and amend the charter of the
Somerset and Worcester Saving's Bank;
Which was read the first time; also,

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the People's Mining
Company; also,

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Miller's Coal Com-
pany;

Which was read the first time; also,

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Hazlewood Coal
Company;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Welling, from the minority of the committee on Roads
and Highways, presented the following

REPORT.

The undersigned, a minority of the committee on Roads
and Highways, to whom was referred the subject of a memo-
rial praying the passage of an act to authorise the opening
and construction of a public highway, commencing at New-
ington avenue, near the city limits, and to be extended to the
Pimlico church, and from thence to some point of intersection
with the Westminster Branch of the Northern Central Rail-
road, in Green Spring valley, respectfully report, that we do
