230              JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS. [Feb. 3,

The question being upon the order,

It was adopted.

Mr. Spence offered the following order :

Ordered, That the special committee heretofore appointed
to consider the question of the boundary line between the
Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia, be relieved from
the further consideration of that subject, and the same refer-
red to the committee appointed on the Western boundary of
this State ;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Duvall,         

Leave was granted to the Montgomery county delegation,
to report a bill for the relief of George P. Atwood.

On motion of Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city,

Leave was granted to the committee on Roads and High-
ways, to introduce a bill to prohibit the president and mana-
gers and company of the Baltimore and Frederick Turnpike
road from collecting tolls on their road, within one mile of
the corporate limits of the city of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Summers,

Leave was granted to the committee on Judiciary, to intro-
a bill to regulate the per diem of judges and clerks of elections
in this State.                                     

A message was received from the Executive at the hands of
his Private Secretary, Richard D. Sellman, Esq., in relation
to the Western boundary line of the State ;

On motion of Mr. Thruston,

Said message was read and referred to the special committee
already appointed, on that subject.

On motion of Mr. Lynch, of Baltimore city,
Leave was granted to the committee on Internal Improve-
ments, to introduce a bill to secure the greater safety of per-
sons traveling on Rail Roads in this State.

On motion of Mr. Neale,

Leave was granted to the. St. Mary's county delegation, to
report a bill to allow Henry M. Langley, former collector of
the first collection district of St. Mary's county, further time
to complete his collections.

On motion of Mr. Wickes,                                           

Leave was granted to the Kent county delegation, to intro-
duce a bill to divide school district, No. 6, in Broad Neck, in
the first election district, in Kent county, into two school dis-
trict.
