Mr. Richardson presented a petition from John S. B. Wool-
ford and others of Dorchester county, graying that a law be
passed to enlarge election district No 9, in said county ;

Which was referred to the Dorchester delegation.

Mr. Crowley presented a petition from John S. McKim,
asking that the capital stock of the Powhattan Steam Boat
Company, he increased to $200,000 ;

Which was referred to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. Kilbourn presented a petition from the Register of
Wills for Anne Arundel county, asking an alteration in the
existing law regulating his attendance in the office;

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel county delegation.

Mr. Hobbs presented a petition from 33 citizens of Jeffer-
son School district of Frederick county, for the passage of an
act to authorise the Jefferson Division, No. 163, of the Sons
of Temperance, to erect an additional story upon the Primary
School House in said district, to be used for the purposes of
said Division ;

Which was referred to the Frederick county delegation.

Mr. Rogers presented a petition from Thomas Hook, and Elea-
nor Parlet Boone Burke, against any act to authorise the con-
struction of a road termed Green Spring Avenue ;

Which was read and referred to the committee on Roads
and Highways.

Mr. Rogers presented a petition and memorial from Hugh
Kirkpatrick, residing on the Pimlico road, in opposition to
any act proposing the construction of a certain road, termed
Green Spring Avenue;

Which was read and referred to the committee on Roads
and Highways.

Mr. Bacon presented a petition from Henry Barnes, and
others, citizens of the town of Havre de Grace, in Harford
county, against the passage of any law, to prohibit, free ne-
groes from fishing in the head waters of the Chesapeake Bay
and its tributaries;

Which was referred to the committee on Colored Popula-
tion.

Mr. Thomas presented a memorial from Grace Bewley,
widow of George Bewley, a Revolutionary soldier, for relief
therein mentioned ;

Which was referred to the committee on Pensions.

Mr. Goldsborough offered the following order;

Ordered, That it be noted on the Journal that the absence
