Mr. Hearn, from the committee on Claims, reported favor-
ably on a bill entitled, an act to refund to Walter P. Snow,
administrator of Edward D. Martin, late clerk of the Circuit
Court for Worcester county, and to George B. Gray, late regis-
ter of wills, for the same county, certain sums of money errone-
ously paid into the Treasury ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Thruston, from a special committee, reported favor-
ably on a Senate bill entitled, an act requiring the Sur-
veyor of Allegany county, to have an accurate copy made of
the record book in said surveyor's office in which are recorded
the certificates of survey made by Benjamin S. Vaughan, a
former Surveyor of said county, and to provide the rates of
compensation for his work.

Mr. Thruston, from a special committee reported favorably
on a Senate bill entitled, an act to change the name of Talbot
Clarke.

Mr. Griffiss, from a special committee, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act to authorise William Johnston, a
free negro of Calvert county, to dispose of his real and person-
al estate by last will and testament:

Mr. Mackubin, from a select committe, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act directing the Comptroller to pay to
Louisa Gassaway, the residue of the pension due to her mother
Mrs. Elizabeth L. Gassaway, at the time of her death ;

Mr. Mackubin, from a select committee, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act for the relief of Joshua Brown, of
Anne Arundel county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Sudler, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a Senate bill entitled, an act to lay out and establish a new
election district in Somerset county, out of Dame's Quarter dis-
trict, No. 4, to be called Tangier district, or election district
No. 15.

Mr. Sudler, of Somerset, from a select committee, reported
favorably on a Senate bill entitled, an act to provide for mak-
ing a general index to judgments, in Somerset county.

Mr. Davis, from a select committee, reported favorably on
a Senate bill entitled, an act granting the leave of the Legis-
