Mr. Morgan presented a petition of T. C. Greenwell, J. T.
M. Raley, John Blackistone, W. L. Dent, R. M. Shanks and
80 other citizens of St. Mary's county, remonstrating against
the passage of a law permitting persons to dredge for oysters
in the waters of the Potomac and the Chesapeake;

Which was referred to a special committee, consisting of
the St. Mary's, Charles and Calvert county delegations.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition of sundry citizens
of Talbot county, respecting the mode of weighing and
measuring grain in the city of Baltimore;

Which was referred to the committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Sudler, of Queen Anne's county, presented a petition
Thomas H. Kemp, Lewis D. Pascault, Pere Winchester and
others, securities of Win. Goldsborough, praying to be re-
leased from the payment of interest, by paying principal of
debt due the State by said Goldsborough, late collector of
Queen Anne's county;

Which was referred to the Queen Anne's county delega-
tion.

Mr. Griffiss presented a petition of Mason L. Weems and
others, asking to be allowed to rent an additional portion of
the wharf opposite Warehouse No. 2;

Which was referred to the committee on Inspections.

Mr. Kilbourn presented a petition of J. S. Franklin, for
compensation as counsel for State, in case of State of Mary-
land vs. Thomas R. Tongue;

Which was referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Kilbourn presented a petition of R. J. Duvall, W. H.
Baldwin and P. M. Leakin, the committee on the part of the
trustees of the Anne Arundel county Academy, praying for
further legislation in regard to the Academy fund of said
county;                             

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel county delega-
tion .

Mr. Kilbourn presented a petition of citizens of Primary
School Districts No. 24 and 21, of Anne Arundel county,
praying for the passage of a law making a new district out
of parts of said two districts as therein described;

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel county delega-
tion.

Mr. Thruston presented a petition of 89 citizens of Allega-
ny county, praying the passage of a law to prohibit the bring-
ing of suits before Justices of the Peace, of said county, else-
